# Your first cause

> The whole journey, from opening the dashboard to the first signature or the first donation.

This is the whole path seen from above. Each step has its own page with the detail.

    Signatures to ask for a change, or funds to pay for something. **A cause chases one thing only**, and the questions we ask you afterwards depend on that decision.

    Today only signature causes can be created: the funding option is on hold and shows marked **Coming soon**.

    It takes you question by question. You can leave and come back: what you write is not lost.

    The hardest part is the story, and it is what decides whether people sign or walk past. If you get stuck, there is a button to write it with the help of artificial intelligence, from four sentences of yours.

    In the last step you go over everything and send it. It moves to **Under review** and someone on the team reads it.

  <Step title="It gets approved and goes public" icon="check">
    Once approved, your cause gets its own address and appears on the portal, where anyone can find it.

    From that moment you can share it, and only from that moment: before then there is no public link to give out.

    This is where it is won or lost. A cause nobody shares is a cause nobody sees: the portal helps, but the first push is yours.

    Start with the people who already know you and will back you for sure. The first signatures make the next ones cost less.

    Post an update whenever something happens: a meeting, a reply, an obstacle. Whoever signed wants to know how it turned out, and a cause that says how it is going gets more support than one that goes quiet.

## How long it takes

  Before you send it for review, read it as if you knew nothing about the subject. If an outsider can't tell in ten seconds what you are asking for and from whom, rewrite the title.
