# Privacy and your rights

> Viewing, correcting, taking away or deleting your data, and what happens to your causes if you leave.

It is in **Configuration › Account Settings**, in the privacy section. There is nobody to write to: requests are made from there and answered by email.

## What you can ask for

    Everything on record about you is prepared and you are told when it is ready. While it is being prepared, the request shows as pending.

    What you can edit yourself, you edit directly. What is verified, such as an identity document, has to be requested and a person reviews it.

    Takes you to the privacy policy, which explains what is kept, why and for how long.

## Communications

Apart from the rights, your consent for communications is right there too. You give it and withdraw it whenever you want, and withdrawing it does not affect your causes or your account.

## Deleting the account

Before you press, bear two things in mind:

* **Causes already published do not simply disappear.** Whoever signed has the right for their signature to keep counting and whoever donated for the destination of the money to be on record. Close your causes first, and post one last update.
* **There is data the law requires to be kept** for a time, above all anything related to payments. The privacy policy says which and for how long.

If what you want is to stop receiving emails or to stop appearing, there are shorter paths: withdraw your consent for communications, or close your causes and leave the account alone.
