# Ways to get paid

> Turning on card payments for all your causes, from Configuration.

<Warning>
  **Creating fundraising causes is on hold**, so this section only affects you if you already have a fundraising cause published. Those keep receiving donations as normal. [More detail](/en/causa/crear)

Ways to get paid belong to **your account**, not to a cause: you turn them on once and they work for every cause you have.

They are in **Configuration › Payments**.

<Note>
  A cause can be approved and getting visits without payments turned on. It simply won't be able to receive donations until you turn them on.

## Card payments

Card donations go through Stripe. You open a Stripe account from here and the money reaches yours; it does not pass through us.

  <Step title="Press enable">
    In Configuration › Payments, **Enable card payments**. Your account is created and Stripe opens.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete your details in Stripe">
    Stripe asks who you are, your bank account and, depending on the case, some document. It is their process, not ours, and it is required by law for anyone receiving payments.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Come back">
    When Stripe clears you, the status changes to active and your causes start taking donations.

### The statuses you may see

| Status      | What it means                       | What to do                                   |
| ----------- | ----------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| Not enabled | You haven't started                 | Press **Enable card payments**               |
| In progress | Stripe is still missing information | **Complete details in Stripe**               |
| Active      | All in order, donations can be made | Nothing                                      |
| Restricted  | Stripe has limited the account      | Go into Stripe and sort out what it asks for |

  If your account is restricted, donations stop until you sort it out. Stripe emails you with what is missing; we cannot sort it out for you.

### When the money arrives

Donations build up in your Stripe account and Stripe transfers them to your bank according to the schedule you have set up there. The gateway fees are charged by Stripe.

## Crypto wallet

Receiving donations directly into a wallet appears on the same screen, marked **Coming soon**. It is not working yet.

## The bank account of a specific cause

Separately from the above, a cause can end up with its own bank account assigned for transfers. That is requested from the cause, not from here, and it has conditions. [How it works](/en/cobrar/cuenta-bancaria)
