# Live streams

> Broadcasting live from your cause to explain it and answer on the spot.

A live stream is a live broadcast that goes out on your cause's public page. Whoever comes in watches it without installing anything and without having an account.

It does what a text can't: show the place, introduce the people behind it, answer live the question everybody is asking.

## Scheduling one

    You can schedule it up to thirty days ahead.

    What you are going to talk about. It is what gets announced on the page.

    From the moment you schedule it, the public page shows a countdown. Post an [update](/en/causa/actualizaciones) as well so that your existing supporters know about it.

  <Step title="Go into the room and broadcast">
    At the time, you open the broadcast room from your dashboard and start. The public watches it on the cause itself.

## During the live stream

There is a chat next to the broadcast. Viewers can write and you can answer out loud, which is what makes people stay.

The sign or donate button stays visible while you broadcast.

<Tip>
  Before a live stream with an audience, do a short test on your own: camera, microphone and connection. A live stream that starts with no sound loses almost everyone in the first minute.

## What you need

A phone or computer with a camera and a microphone, and a stable connection. If you get to choose, cable or wifi rather than mobile data.
